Other online universities

Has anyone used any other online universities and of so were they any good?
The masters degree I'm wanting to do the Open University don't do it and I've found ot with other online universities just wondered if there were any good ones. Am gutted I might have to leave the Open University as it's been so amazing
Try seeing if any brick unis have an online option. Some do, these days.

My hubby studied both his BA and MA online with Buckinghamshire New University.
I'm starting an MSc online in September with the University of Edinburgh.

Hi Karen2302,

Sorry to hear that the Open University aren't able to help you and don't offer the Masters degree that you are wanting to take. I agree the Open University is really brilliant - I studied a Masters degree with the Wales branch a couple of years ago and found that all the tutors were brilliant and the course materials were fabulous.
In response to your question, have you asked the OU if it is definitely not offering the Masters this year? They may be able to advise you of any similar courses that are on offer if you explain that you really want to remain studying with them and have already enjoyed a previous degree? If you find that the answer they give is a firm no, then all isn't lost! Loads of the brick universities are offering on line options to many of their masters degrees. You don't say what you are wanting to study, but the choice of online study is really quite broad now, so it is well worth having a good look at the 'traditional' universities. You can do a search using various websites, such as Find A Masters - https://www.findamasters.com/masters-degrees/united-kingdom/ or Prospects, https://www.prospects.ac.uk/postgraduate-courses. You may be able to find others that offer this kind of facility, too.
It may help you with your search, and hopefully you will be able to find a Masters in the course that you want to study.
I hope this helps, and good luck with the rest of your academic journey - enjoy it!
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask

I'm in a similar position. I want to do an online Masters but the Open University don't offer anything for my subject of interest which is Ecology based. What are you hoping to study?

I was looking at Edinburgh but unfortunately I don't think I will get in due to the entry requirements sadly. What MSc are you going to be doing?

Ooh that sounds fascinating!! I actually got what I needed to apply for Edinburgh for an online MSc so I think I'm going to go for it. The fees are a lot more expensive than elsewhere but it's such a prestigious university with a lot to offer that I think it will be worth it. I just hope I can submit a compelling application and they offer me a place.

Yeah it's about 5k more for my tuition fees than student finance will cover, unfortunately.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you if you apply there.
