Struggling to Feel Heard

I sent some notes on my presentation earlier on a well-known communication platform. It’s an important part of my role and meant to help the team. They’ve been creating work the wrong way and breaking the rules, which is why I had to present—to guide them and raise awareness.

I sometimes struggle to engage since I’m quite shy, but I appreciated the few positive responses I got.

Later, a teammate shared their work and received a lot more engagement. I’m happy for them, but I couldn’t help feeling a bit overshadowed. I’m not looking for attention—I just felt invisible for a moment.

Before my colleague shared their work, I asked if anyone had questions about my presentation. Instead, someone on my team asked a completely unrelated question, which made me feel like my work wasn’t being taken seriously.

Has anyone else felt this way?
