CREST award

Hi all,

I had no clue where to post this, but I want to do a CREST gold award over my Year 11 Summer holiday (more time and what not). And was wondering if anyone could walk me through how you did it if you did.

I would greatly appreciate any advice but anyone who did a biology-related/chemistry-related one is better (as long as it was a CREST award/EPQ)

I did my crest award through my school and was able to access and use the labs, so perhaps it would be better if you ask your school if you can use the labs and chemicals if you’re doing one related or chemistry (like I did)
Basically all I did was go on the website and looked at the projects I could do and selected one I liked. Then based on its suggestions as well as advice from my teacher, I wrote a list of ingredients/ equipments I needed. Then basically started researching the process and steps, then I did the experiments in the school labs, and noted down every step we took every week (I did it once a week)
So, I think it would be more ideal to do the crest award in school if you’re doing chemistry related ones. You could have a look at the Crest website for ideas for projects.
