Looking for internships? Check out the 10 000 Black Internship Programme.

The 10K black internship programme is an incredible initiative with focus on black representation across UK industries. It offers paid internships in over 25 sectors from law, and finance to media and healthcare, and pairs black or black heritage and graduates with leading organizations for meaningful career experience. If you are black or have black heritage (international student/graduate as well) and are looking for internships, the 10k black internship programme is a great opportunity—Don’t Miss Out!

The application process is straightforward: when the application portal is open, choose a sector and 3 different divisions in that sector, and submit your CV and a short personal statement for each of the divisions you have chosen. If you are successful, you get allocated to 2-4 firms within your sector. Interns receive training, mentoring, and access to a growing professional network. I applied for the 10K black internship in October as the application was open then. I got allocated to 4 big firms and got two interviews. The interviews were only 30 minutes and were not difficult. I got an internship offer for a finance role in one of the biggest international Law firms. This felt like a huge opportunity that reflected my potential and opened doors I had only dreamed of.

Unfortunately, couldn’t accept the offers due to visa restrictions as the internship started in term time, therefore clashed with my academic calendar. Still going through the process gave me a huge boost in confidence. It showed me that I could compete at the highest level and that employers are actively looking for talent like mine. If you are eligible, Apply! This could be your first step into the industry you have also wanted.
Applications open: September-October
