Choosing Between MSc Finance Offers: Bayes vs. Nottingham as an International Student

I currently have offers from both Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) and the University of Nottingham for an MSc in Finance. As an international student, I’m uncertain about which option would be the best fit for me, and I’m trying to weigh the academic quality, career opportunities, and overall student experience at each university.

Bayes Business School for sure dude
It's ranked extremely highly and it's in London, the Financial centre of the UK so career opportunities are plentiful
Bayes for sure, no question

I'd agree with the other comment, Bayes.

Hi! Congrats on your offers from two great universities. I’m sure you’ve already looked into your programme in detail, so I’ll share some personal insights that might help with your decision.

Life in London: London is vibrant and full of energy but also has plenty of relaxing corners. Like other capitals, it offers countless opportunities—especially for part-time work or launching your career. Its international scene makes it an excellent choice for long-term prospects.

At City St George’s, University of London: You’ll benefit not just from the university’s support services—financial, housing, and more—but also from being a student at a federation member of the University of London. This means access to events, seminars, and forums that can help you grow and connect.

At Bayes Business School: Bayes offers lifelong support through its strong alumni network. Global gatherings and the Bayes Alumni Awards keep the community close and thriving. These connections are truly invaluable beyond your time as a student.

I hope this gives you a better picture of life here. My final advice: choose a place that offers a healthy balance of study, work, and life—and think long-term, not just about the next few years.

Best wishes,
Audrey
