Student finance Eligibility

So, I applied for student finance and received an email today that I'm not eligible to receive student finance.
I moved to the UK in November 2020 via spouse visa, and my husband is British.
I checked and was sure I was eligible before I applied.
Can I appeal this decision?

Hello Clare,
Please see below what I'm about to send to SLC.
What do you think?

Dear SLC Team,

I am writing in regard to my student finance application for the academic year 2025/2026 application not being accepted. I am writing*this letter in order to appeal this*decision because on the gov.uk website its states that I am eligible to apply to the Student Finance England for tuition fees and maintenance*loan based on my immigration status (I am a family member of a UK national and I have lived in the UK for over 3 years).I moved to the UK in November 2020 via spouse visa to join my husband who is a UK national, having lived in the UK for over 3 years before my course start date and also being a family member to a UK national makes me eligible for the student loan and maintenance loan.I have enclosed all required supporting documents to this*email. These include my proof of identity (passport data page), my Share Code to prove my immigration status, marriage*certificate, and my husband's passport data page for your*reference.
I will appreciate it if my appeal is considered as I am looking*forward to starting my course in September.
Kind regards,

Hello Leah, it appears that i only qualify for a tuition loan based on my immigrationstatus.
I will be applying for my ILR sometime in December of this year, my question is that can I go ahead and apply for just the tuition loan and then apply for a maintenance loan when I get my ILR (let's say sometime in Feb or March depending on how fast homeoffice is on processing my application)?
2nd question is if the answer to my 1st question is No, can I apply for a maintenance loan in my 2nd year?

You can apply for the Tuition Fee only now, and then once you are granted your ILR you can apply for the home funding. This means you can also apply for Maintenance Loan. Thanks, Leah.

Hello Drew, Thanks for your response. Since I will be applying for just a tuition loan, do I still qualify for the NHS grant for nursing students?

You'd be best to check this directly with your learning provider to confirm any grants through them that you're eligible for. Thanks, Jason
