Dissertation- very worried- King’s college london

I just submitted my dissertation report and poster and it’s is beyond terrible. I had an extension but it’s just been a struggle. (I even had to cancel a specialist appointment I’ve been waiting a year for with the NHS about a sleep disorder as time was short with this dissertation)

I saw my reference have incorrect DOI in the reference list and open to a completely different study. My background says I found 71 studies but the rest of the report says 44 studies and has figures for 44 and a PRISMA flowchart showing 44- BUT my poster has a completely different flow chart showing 71 retrieved (I rushed and forgot to update).

I feel like I might even be over the word count as my report says over 12,000 words (I know that included references so it’s not the actual) and count limit is 8000 +-10%

I’m very worried as I’m studying a medical degree and I hope I can get a resit opportunity. I am due to start a foundation year post and now I don’t know what happens as I start July. The problem is that in my other years I would get 40-50% each year and hope I don’t graduate with a third.

For the future reports you do, write a to do list of everything you need to do before submitting. This includes proof reading, spell checking, checking references, figures, links, EVERYTHING.
This makes it so much easier to stay on top and prevent mistakes.
Good luck for the future and as its a foundation year, that's perfect for you to start learning how to format your assignments and learn from each mistake xx

Hi thanks for the encouragement but it’s actually my final year at university!!! I start foundation heat also known as pre registration training as working before qualification. It’s quite bad isn’t it!

ah yes of course it is, its a dissertation ! My bad. Well if anything, even if say, you resit, its really good that you're self aware and you know what you need to do. So hopefully for next time you can be on top of it.

You cannot change what you have done, you can revise for your exams instead. Try to get high marks in your exams because the final year project is not everything. If they allow you to resit your dissertation, you now know what to improve. Good luck, i hope it all goes well, x.
