uni of liverpool or uni of manchester?
hey! i am a current a level student and i'm wondering which university is the best for law, i've seen that manchester has way better prospects and ratings than liverpool, however it is quite far away from me (like 50 minutes in car), but i'm worried i will harm my job prospects by choosing a more low-key uni like liverpool. any thoughts?

Liverpool is not inferior to Manchester.
Don't count on rankings too much. Some of the ranking attributes are no so objective, e.g. student satisfaction, research quality. But if you insists, go into the details and sort out the relative strengths and weaknesses of the unis.
Your prospects will be determined by your capabilities but not the name of the uni. Someone may quote chamberstudents' survey to substantiate their claims on career prospects. But the employment market is dynamic and the survey was done as an on-off execise years ago, probably out-dated.
Assess the unis on your own, on their course modules, student support, distance to home. Your future should be in your own hands.

The big civic universities such as Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, and Birmingham (AKA the redbricks) are all pretty good. Liverpool and Manchester are both cool cities. Pick whichever of the two you get the best vibes from.

Agree with this. You’re choosing the uni based on your preferred location between these 2 unis

tysm!! honestly i feel like both are really cool, not gonna lie i was kinda worried employers would look down on a smaller uni like liverpool, even if it is rusell group 🙏
