I completely get that student finance is a whole stressful process (going through something where sfe is over complicating it) but it's neer going to not appear stressful. When applying you do have to select a uni but you can change it at any time. I'd reccomend getting in contact with someone (at sixth form/college, finance services or any local help centres you have you may help) just to get the process started and then you can do it bit by bit or with the help and guidance of someone knowledgable on the process.

Also, not to add more stress but there is a 6 weeks estimate process time to doing it now could give you peace of mind that it'll be sorted in time for you to attend uni.

Apply now with your best guess as to which you uni you will firm. It takes time to process supporting evidence and applying now will ensure your funding is in place for September. The uni can be changed easily later.
