i don't have very good advice but i'm in the exact same boat. i guess i can say you're not alone? or maybe we're both alone idk
i'm trying to do little and often even though i'm stressed i'm not doing enough (like 1.5-2 hours a day is my max)
and i'm trying to focus on my really weak areas instead of trying to do it all even though it feels like the right thing to do
that's all i have for you but i hope that helped a bit

Hi there!

I would focus firstly on content - look through your spec and highlight areas of which you need the most help. Then, in areas that are red or yellow, pick a revision method - if its definitions or processes that you need help on then flash cards might be best. What A-Levels do you do? What are your target grades and are you going to uni or considering alternative options?

Regarding your motivation, you may be feeling overwhelmed and not in control - which is completely normal. But this is only temporary, the stress you feel is lifted off of your shoulders when you walk out of your final exam, with a summer free of revision. You a month - you are so close to the finish line so why give up now?

My biggest tip is to just start, there is no perfect opportunity or plan to start - so just do it. The sooner you do it, the better.

I would then focus on structure - every day until your exams count. Plan each day accordingly.

In the event that your exams do not go as well as hoped - do not panic and it is not the end of the world - have a look at clearing way before results day. Clearing opens in July, and you can browser courses that are available.

I hope this helps! Any more questions, do let me know.

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)

Hi @smoothoperatooor

My recommendations are:

Try to make your revision interesting by switching up your revision techniques.

Create a revision plan up until the end of your exams, including a manageable amount of revision each day. Also try to include time for you to do the things that you enjoy.

Prioritise revising the things that you are less confident with.

Plan for things after your exams have finished, this might include the things that you are going to do during the summer and what you are going to do next year.

Hope that helps and good luck for your exams!

A common reason for a lack of motivation is a lack of clear structure of revision, and being overwhelmed by all that’s out there.

I’d recommend creating a simple timetable with a couple of hours of revision a day, which you should adhere to regardless of how you feel. There’s 2 aspects you need to cover usually- content, and exam technique.

Use any app- YT, anki, quizlet, or whatever can keep you engaged to learn content quickly, and when you do, utilise as many past papers as possible, in timed conditions to work on timings/ exam skills. Beyond these, it can become over complicated, which can demotivate you even further.

Remember things will progress whether you revise or not, so you could go into summer looking forward to your results day, or dreading it, and that’s all in your control.

Best of luck.
