How fast GCSEs are coming

So guys, I am aiming for all 9s in every single subject in my GCSEs, but i don't really know, not that I am not confident or anything, but in our recents mocks, although I got some 8s and 7s, I need all 9s, I do not do triple sciences but combined, could anyone who has already done theirs or any experienced person, please give me some tips, especially on Maths(higher), Science(double) and English, lit and language. That would be so helpful. Thank you

You need to separate the revision for each subject into different topics. The revision guides have a contents page and guide you on the topics to cover. For English, I went through each topic e.g. writing style, made a summary of the writing style like writing to persuade/argue/inform. Then I completed the revision exercises in revision guide. Then I completed a workbook/past papers. Anything you don't understand, go over it again and ask teacher for help with marking or advice. This technique helped especially for maths, a summary of each method. Maths is different. First, you learn each technique, different types of algebra methods and methods to solve trigonometry problems. But when I did the past paper, it won't tell you the topic they are asking you. You have to work this out yourself and this is called exam technique. Exam technique also describes how to gain marks even if the final answer is incorrect, like show your working.
I hope this helps. You have time with a good revision schedule. Good luck with your exams.

Hey @Applepie_01,

If you recently achieved 7/8s in your mocks, you clearly have a good grasp of the content; I'd recommend focusing on improving your exam technique and brushing up on any topics you may have missed in your revision so far. Look back on each of your mocks and see which topics need improvement - for example, do you know enough quotations/textual evidence for English Literature, which topics are your weakest in Maths, etc. Make sure to use past papers to your advantage: they can be found on your exam board's website and serve as good practice for your final exam.

Best of luck! 🙂
Eve (Kingston Rep).
