Elective Advice (female, solo)

Hi, I have my medical elective next year april and will travelling solo. I would definitely like to go abroad (I'm from low class background and hardly have been abroad my entire life and want to give myself that opportunity) and plan on funding most of this via grants.

Does anyone know:

-any fairly safe areas I can travel to abroad as a woman by herself? I am also interested in GP so plan on directly planning to clinics/medical centres (to potentially avoid admin costs?).

-If anyone knows any GP/community placements abroad that are good please let me know.

-Fairly cheap places to travel to? (In terms of flight costs, and accom)

Hey, it's a really late reply, but I hope whoever else is reading this finds it useful. I recently went for my radiotherapy elective in Melbourne. It was extremely safe, and I was able to claim back a lot of things from the NHS, such as accommodation and insurance. The only thing you really need to save up for is food, any activities, and a flight. So I spent just over £2000 during my 2 weeks of elective in Australia. This includes flight (the majority were towards flight like 1k since AU is so far away from England, but if you choose another place, that may not be the case), food, experience, transportation in the country, and buying gifts. I would defo recommend Australia. NZ is a good shout as well, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Canada, and Singapore are really good for female solo travellers. You will have the best time of your life. I was really living my life in Melbourne. Go for it and don't let past put you down. I hope you have a great time, and let me know if you need any help
