CV advice sales assistant

I need advice on structuring a cv. I’m in my first year of uni and haven’t had a job up till now and really want to get some experience and learn new skills. Anyone have any advice on how to structure a cv as there’s so many different templates I wanna know what would be most effective. For a sales assistant positions. Cos the jobs I’ve applied to so far I never heard back from. I’m feeling behind cos everyone I know has or has had a job.

Heyy, try to find a simple and neat template which is ATS friendly, avoid columns one as ATS can't read it, also make sure it is one page long, if you need any help just drop me a text 🙂

Hey, sorry for replying late I fell asleep last night. I do not know how to drop a dm at student room actually. If you can, I can help you regarding structuring your CV. Basically try to follow summary (just short here you can write your intended goals or area you are targeting so you can write as dedicated or customer focused professional looking for roles in fast paced environment) you can add on with the help of chatgpt, try to only write 2 3 lines. Then your education, experience, hobbies (if you wanna add or any skills) and thats it. I assume since you are in uni you dont have experience, that is fine, just add any voluntary experience you have? if not you can try to write group projects if youve done any? where you have done team work, ask chatgpt to give school based experience and list down responsiblities and make sure to add numerical achievements, like contributed to a 10% increase in sales while working as a Sales Representative during a summer camp event, by actively engaging customers. that will help you refine your cv and stand out. Tbh I dont have a job rn, the market is awful and these companies want loads of experience so they do not have to train you but I believe if you add that you will def land more interviews as I am getting more rn. Good luck.

Thank you soooo much this was really helpful ))

Only thing I’m stuck on is the numerical part. I do have a bit of voluntary experience but have no stats to back u my cv.

It's okayyy, so just add your voluntary experience in chat gpt ask it what achievements I can write in my cv numerically, and list it in your CV, you don't need to back it up so you'll be fine dw.
