Location: The Village is a 10-20 minute walk from campus basically. It's right outside the campus but the walk to the main part of UEA (library, shops) is what takes time. If I was walking from The Village to a lecture at the other end of campus I would leave around 30 mins. The Village has its own laundrette and there's a mini Tescos at the end of the road but things like the library and coffee shop you are further away from. It has its own little community though but I would say you are just further away from the 'action' of campus. On the other hand, living on campus means you're right next to shops, coffee shops, the library and your lectures, so less walking time!

Noise: There's really not much difference. I didn't hear the LCR from where I stayed and I doubt anyone would. To be honest it all depends on the kind of neighbours you get but I didn't have any noise troubles living on campus. The only exceptions is during freshers week, my room was on the ground floor so I could hear a group of people outside, but a quick call to security cleared them off and it never happened again! I wouldn't say campus accom is noisier than The Village, it's just there's less accom in The Village so less people.
