Information about public health master's programmes

Hi everyone

I wanna apply for a Master in public health in the UK and need some clarification on 2 points.

For some context, I'm a med student about to complete my bachelor programme, so firstly I wanted to know if academic transcripts/records instead of a physical bachelor's degree in medicine would be enough to certify my study level, since we aren't given any degree in my country (DRC) after finishing those 3 years.
And lastly, is work experience that relevant to be accepted ? I never worked a day in my life and I fear that would impede my application process.

Thanks in advance for your responses

You need to speak directly with the postgraduate admissions department for the specific MPH courses you want to apply to. They will clarify what is acceptable.

It is likely that they will accept an equivalence for international students. They always want to see a transcript anyway, so it's likely that what you have is going to be suitable. However, the only way to be sure is to get confirmation from the individual admissions offices. Best of luck.

Hi! I am a current Master of Public health (MPH) candidate at City St George's University. Since you're from the DRC and don’t receive a physical bachelor's degree after your medical studies, official academic transcripts are generally accepted by UK universities. To strengthen your application, also include:

A letter from your university confirming your completed level of study

Any attestation or provisional certificate, if available This should be sufficient to meet admission requirements.

As for work experience, it's not essential for MPH admission. Many UK programs accept students directly from medical school, especially if you demonstrate:

Strong academics

A well-written personal statement that shows your interest in public health and your future goals

So don’t worry—your lack of work experience won’t block your application if the rest is solid.
Furthermore, always try and get in touch with the university you are interested in to ask your queries before applying, it would be helpful!
