Oxford Philosophy and Theology Applicants/Students/Offer-holders

Hi all
I am thinking of taking a gap year to apply for philosophy and theology at Oxford (im in y13 rn but got rejected from cambridge). Has anyone got any advice if anyone is an oxford philosophy and theology offer holder, current student or anything? Advice on their applications and everything like that! Thank you so much

I’d advise against taking a gap year solely to get into Oxford. It’s always going to be a big gamble for any applicant no matter the course and in the event that you don’t get in (which is more likely than not statistically), you would be taking out a whole year of your life for the same end result. If you plan on taking a gap year for other reasons, such as work, travel, exploring your subject etc., I’d suggest that you try and make some solidified plans regarding how you’d plan on using up your time. Also note that the structure of the personal statement changing may make the admissions outcomes even less predictable, as there won’t be a real idea as to how well admissions will view different ways of responding to the set questions:

ive firmed a top russel group university, for privacy reasons i wont be sharing which. think just below oxbridge.

Then you should apply for a Master's degree at Oxford after your Bachelor's degree. 😉
