Primark Interview

Hi, I need some help regarding my interview experience. So I gave my interview on Thursday. The manager asked me four STAR based questions, a question about why did I applied to Primark, and what does customer service means to you. I think its a graded interview? she graded every of my competency based answer out of 5. I did okay I think, could have explained one of my example better to her. So she ranked my STAR based answers and the customer service question (also graded as) 5,5,3,4,4. Have I failed my interview since she scored me 3 on one competency? She said at the end of interview I will hear back at the mid of the next week. If anyone who works or has given an interview with primark would really like their input. thank youu.

No the person I tagged has just been through the Primark interview recently and was offered a job and is awaiting start date, just thought she may know what these scores means with the Primark interview.

Ohhh would be really helpful if they have any view. I have given 12 retail interviews without any success 🥺😢😢 so I really want a job

Aww that is lot's of interviews without any success but remember that each interview you do you are gaining more experience from it so you know next one you'll do better.
I can't say if she can give you any information but she said that the person wrote things down like what you said.
Have you tried supermarkets or boots as they are always looking for staff as well.
I'm sure you will be successful in gaining a job soon and just keep your fingers crossed 🤞 🤞 🤞.

Oh I'm really depressed, I don't even know what am I doing wrong 😭😭😭 I've given interview with Boots and they rejected me literally an hour later. I've given up now cuz I'm so emotionally drained ( I've given interviews with H&M, boots, primark, nationwide, 02, nation trust to name some 😭

Don't feel depressed because of not getting a offered a job with anyone because you just keep trying until you are successful 😀 😀 😀
If you are doing well with interviews then where's the problem 😕 😕 😕 is it the employer not offering it because they feel someone else is better than you....
Improve your interview skills would help ( get a family member to do mock interviews with you).

Probably I actually don't live with my family ☹️ I am an int student but that's fine. I think it's just being unlucky + better candidates who have more experience? I also live in Coventry it's a city with lots of uni students so ig employers end up being very picky probably. Most of my interviews end up being very well I've seen lots of youtube videos on how to frame the STAR method too. Don't know what else can I do

Being a international student doesn't make any difference 😞 😞 😞.....
If a employer thinks someone else is better suited for the job they will offer them it even though you might have done better or they have more previous experience in retail.....
Eventually you will crack it and get a job but don't give up on trying 😞 😞.....

Heyy I’ve just seen this now so sorry for replying late. I was in a similar position to you a few weeks ago and all my answers were scored 4 out of 5 except one which I was scored 3 out of 5. And I was offered the job a few days later so don’t lose hope!

I had my interview on a Sunday and I heard back on Wednesday afternoon.
I think considering she rated you high on the majority of your answers you have quite a good chance.

Thank you so muchhh. I just wanted to ask how long did you waited for the induction. Do they send you a contract before induction? They've told me to come on Wed for induction day but I haven't been send any contract yet. Also how is induction day like? I'm nervous but also very excited.

I waited a week and half from the call to my induction. We did all the contract stuff at the induction.
For me my induction was 5 hours— 2 hours of which was PowerPoint which was like an introduction to Primark, going over health annd safety, and getting to know other people in your induction. Then we did a tour of the store as well as a bit of work of the shop floor.
For advice on what to wear for interview is just like dark coloured clothes (I just wore all black), and you’ll have dark coloured stuff till your uniform arrives. Also you order uniform at induction.

Okayyy thank you so muchh. My position is of retail assistant which I assume means I'll be working on shop floor, back of the house and tills? I hope I enjoy working with Primark hehe. Also my contract is just 8 hours a week, I wanted to know if there are opportunities to get overtime maybe? Sorry if I asked so many questions I'm just very nervous and overwhelmed.
