Best accommodation

Can someone please help me choose campus accommodation best suited to a quiet introvert with OCD tendencies? Concerned about noise and cleanliness.

Hi there,

We recommend you email: [email protected] for specific questions about the rooms or if you'd like further information.

You can also ask one of our current students about any other questions you might have about accommodation more generally.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,
Royal Holloway, University of London Rep

If your OCD tendencies mean that you require an ensuite, I would recommend Gowar, Tuke or Butler. The cleanliness of the communal spaces really just depends on flatmates but these flats are shared with 7 people so less of a chance of having messy people.

I’d stay away from Williamson because I’ve heard it’s more run down than the other options for the same price. Wedderburn is nice but they have lots of fire alarms. Runnymede is shared with 6 but the blocks aren’t as nice as Gowar, Tuke or Butler and you get a single bed there.

If you’re okay with a shared bathroom, George Eliot may be the best choice. Each townhouse is shared by 12 people but they’re made up of 3 floors. Essentially each floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so you’ll only share a bathroom with 1 other person. This could make the living space quieter because there’s only 4 people per floor however kitchen is shared with quite a few people so could be messy. This accommodation is also across the street from the main campus (as well as Penrose and Highfield court which are slightly cheaper) so slightly further away from all the buzz of the main campus so potentially quieter for you?

Honestly cleanliness and noise is just based on who you’re sharing with and luck but I hope this helps in terms of facilities!

I'm pretty sure Runnymede has a specific block for introverted clean students ? I'd double check but I'm sure I saw an option when applying for this specific type of student
