is markme.ai accurate?

Hello!! Just wondering if anyone has had experience with markme ai? I payed for a subscription so i could improve my marks in english language (AQA) but i’m worried it might be marking me too favourably or inaccurately. When I give things to my teacher and I generally score in the same band, sometimes the ai marks me lower and sometimes it marks me higher. I just don’t want to be unpleasantly surprised on results day - ANY input would be hugely appreciated. thanks!! x

Your teachers are there to help.
A box of chocolates would go a long way in how much marking they would be willing to do for you 😂

I use it (not a current GCSE student but I tutor both English and History and bought an account to share with students)

I've used it for marking both of those subjects - I think its accurate, in the sense that the mark it awards would fall within an acceptable range compared to a real examiner - although obviously no marker (human or AI) is ever perfect. I'd say it's a harsh marker for English language (I guess because creative writing is more subjective?) but for History and English Literature I've found that it's more or less spot on. Can't comment on any subjects other than English Lit/Lang and History as I've not tried.

Should you rely on it entirely? No, obviously if you have a tutor or teacher willing to mark stuff that will always be the better option. Is it a useful indication of where you're at and a good way to get feeback? I'd say so. Like I said, I bought a subscription to share with my students - tried it out beforehand as I was sceptical but I'm confident it's actually a useful tool and I'm happy to let them use it if they don't want to wait for me.

Hi! So i've got the subscription just because i write mock papers alot and i like getting grades (gcses this year also) . I'm english edexcel and i use it and i found that it marks harsher in some cases and nicer in some sections which kinda sucks but its good cuz it breaks the assessment objectives down. I use it for history aqa and thats really accurate actually but I've noticed that if i submit the same piece of work twice (just to test it) the marks differ, only by a few- but still. I use it basically everyday just to get a rough idea of where i'm at, but i know that teachers tend to mark overly harsh to prepare you for the real thing but i totally get where you're coming from because everyone marks and grades differently for english. Im going to keep using it, for the grades and marks yes, but also the way it goes through where i scored and where i didnt. hope this helps 🙂

Hi. Year 10 student here. How did you get on with it please? I’m desperate as my teachers refusing to mark any extra work I do? Thank you

That’s great! Well done. Good luck with your results. I’m sure you will smash it! I might text when results out to see if mark me helped in actual exams! Good luck! 😊😊

hi, i found that for markme.ai out of all the other ai websites i used this was the best however i still think it was marking me a bit more favourably, except for history aqa which was actually quite accurate, but for english lit it did mark me a grade 9 a few times which was weird bc i've never got that. I once submitted an essay and also gave the same one to my teacher to see if it was accurate and it marked me a 9 but my teacher gave me a grade7-8, but this could just be bc my teacher was quite a harsh marker but then again idk. Unlike chatgpt it wasnt always marking me a grade 9 tho, i did get a few 7s and 8s when i used it aswell, if u can i would defo recommend you get a teacher to mark ur work instead.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate it. Did you get similar marks with your real exam results or are they yet to come? If it’s this summer. Good luck 🤞 😊

Hi. Are you still happy with it? Did your students score similar in the real exams?

results are yet to come, if i remember i'll post what i got later but don't be surprised if its a 6 😭, nothing to do with the website and its marking it was just that my revision methods could've been better. for some reason all the revision techniques that would've been way better want to come to me after exams and not before lol.

hi there,

I would advise against this as no AI is 100% accurate. You teachers are there to help you for a reason, so I would focus on being proactive and finding questions online, answering them, and asking your teachers to mark them. I would avoid relying on AI, however, if your teachers are ineffective then a tutor may be another good idea. Just keep in mind that no AI is perfect

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)
