Post problems??

I recently messaged a staff member about how I kept getting an error message when trying to reply to thread. Today I noticed it wasn't a problem so I was scrolling through that list of questions I get given when the site thinks I might be able to answer them but when I do post my reply it shows up on the post directly after submitting but on the actual discussion it doesn't/ the thread shows as having no responses, if that makes sense

Edit - I'm also still having the error thread message again

Um, I know I replied to this thread https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7587920 as I commented on it for the poster to look into things like DSA and Citizen Advice/Advice Centres but the post isn't there

Hi. Thanks for messaging. I can't see an obvious reason that you would be getting errors. Can you tell me what the error says please?
There isn't a reply on this thread you link above but I've found the user who posted it has double posted in another forum and you have replied to that one. Did you reply to both or is this your original reply?

You're welcome 🙂 I'm glad your post is there. If you ever want to see all your previous posts you can see them here:
User posts
Its an older page but will show everything you have posted.

Please do let me know if the error happens again and if you can remember the error message (or get a screenshot) that would really help.

Hi, I've recently logged back on after a couple days to answer some questions and I'm getting an error thread message. Like my first problem, I can respond to a couple of asks and then I get an error message.

Could you try clearing your cache and cookies for TSR and seeing if that helps, please?

Hi, clearing cache and cookies doesn't help. I still get the same error message as in the image above

Ok thanks for trying it - could you let me know which forum(s) you're seeing the error in, please?

I'm unsure if it's a specific forum, I click the notification that I recieve about helping answer questions and it takes me to a page of unanswered questions. I'm not sure if that's considered a specific forum?

Ah that's usually a mix of forums! Would you mind sharing the link for the next couple of threads you have issues replying to, please? I can have a look into what's going on more easily with some specific examples

Only SFE reps can answer threads within that section.

It probably should display a more useful error message though.

Thanks, as Admit-One says the "Ask Student Finance England" forum can only be replied to by SFE reps. I'll have a look at updating the error messaging, and at whether that forum can be filtered out of the "Unanswered" page
