The summer holidays in England and wales are usually mid July to early September

Depends on whether you are at college - then yes you get similar holidays to schools.

Universities are different depending on what degree courses you are doing as majority of the students will be of all summer time whilst medical and healthcare students tend to work over the summer months depending on individual universities working out their timetable for the year.
