Pharmacy - Nottingham or KCL

This is going to be a bit of a rant so I apologise in advance lol.

When I first applied for university, I was really set on going to King’s for Pharmacy - I loved the campuses, the idea of living in London looked amazing and it seemed like a good opportunity to move out/explore.

However, while I submitted my UCAS application in November and had my interview in February, It’s been nothing but radio silence from them. (It sounds a bit stupid now that I’m writing this lol) but it’s just very offputting that it’s taking them so long to process applications; I’ve seen that some people have still heard nothing from them and i’m just thinking about how this might carry on further into university life if I (somehow) get in.

While Nottingham is in the north (which i’m not too keen on as I personally don’t like it up here, alongside the difference in opportunities compared to London), they responded extremely quickly, the campus is a lot nicer imo and their pharmacy course is ranked significantly higher than KCL.

Can someone give their genuine opinion on what I should do? The other 3 universities I applied for were more like ‘placeholders’ as my heart was set on King’s, but now I’m really not too sure.

Just got rejected from KCL lmao. They take forever to reply. My top choice was UCL but unfortunately I wasn't selected even though I smashed my test and interview. Nottingham is my top choice and I would recommend Nottingham over kings because specifically for pharmacy, Nottingham is a better choice over kings. If u wanna go for the prestige and the ldn vibe, then kings, however at the end of the day, they both russel group unis, so idk

Hey, if you haven’t heard anything back I would say keep your hopes up bc you haven’t received a straight rejection, I did get an offer from kcl the other day for MPharm. I had my interview in march. I can’t see myself living in London and I didn’t like kings open day either so I’ve decided to go to Notts. It’s ranked higher and I enjoyed my time at their campus! Regardless, there’s no point stressing, focus on what you can control like revising etc and you’ll end up wherever you were meant to be!!! 🙂

how come they didn’t select you if you did super well? is the selection after the test/interview mostly luck then?
