Hi, bit of a random reply, but I did a degree in Sociology and an MSc in Psychology, I'd like to recommend a book called 'Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology' by Coolican, it will be useful for either subjects, especially when you do research methods units and your dissertation.

Heard lots of good things about Edinburgh :smile:
