Wait how much do we need to know about 'omnibenevolence' in the topic nature and attributes of God bc I barely have notes on it

I think you would need to know a little bit about it tbh. one of the RS predicted questions is "god cannot be both omnibenevolent and omniscient". but tbh it's not too bad just learn a couple scholars theories of what gods love means. eg William frakena thinks gods love means exhibiting the same love to everybody, but not necessarily equality, whilst aquinas thinks that people are given what they need according to gods perfect wisdom. another argument against gods love and omniscience if that if he knows what people are going to do (experience evil or act in an evil manner) then why does he not intervene? then you can cite free will, etc, and how gods love manifests in self limitation (Peter vardy) to let people do what they want. hope this helps a bit 🙂

guys. if there are so many gaps in the spec do you think they will reuse a specific question. e.g for problem of evil, hick hasn't come up at all despite being a pretty big sub-topic. do you think they'll reuse let's say augustine's theodicy?

You can use the issue boethius raised and tried to solve - that there is an apparent conflict between omnibenevolence and omniscience over the issue of free will and justice.

Also the logical problem of evil involved omnibenevolence, so that would also be relevant - and responses to it.

Looking at the patterns I'm thinking mind, body and soul, arguments for the existence of God, problem of evil and nature of God.
Have just finished weeks of alternating between English lang and history, so only just started philosophy last night. Will try to revise everything tho 😭 might need to try for an A* to make up for the potential B in English 😬

Haha this is funny because I'm in the EXACT same position! Have been just doing English and history so it feels like I know nothing for philosophy and I'm totally panicking because of it haha!

Ha I've never actually met anyone with my exact same subjects! I thought philosophy would be alright to do in three days but I'm probably gonna have to stay up tonight 😭 I'm sure we'll be fine though! Got a week for the other two papers so even if philosophy isn't the best it's only 1/3 of the course

Would cosmological come up again?

it came up last year so it would be unlikely it gets brought up on its own this year. could get brought up in like teleological vs cosmological or a priori vs a posteriori. who knows though edexcel is harsh 🥸

Yeah ethics is the easiest paper for me. Half of it is applying natural law and situation ethics 😭

I have gotten as in the past for a level ocr rs but my timing is really bad and usually I only get an a in 1 topic in one paper the rest I get us so my end grade becomes a u how can I revise now to atleast get a b and is it possible for me to go from a u to a b

honestly just in the exam be super strict on your timings. you evidently know all the content really well if your getting a's but the best way to average higher on a paper is to split your time evenly so you have the opportunity to get a/b in all 3! Its better to not write a conclusion for all of them to do 2 significantly worse essays if ygm.

Is it likely religious experience is gonna come up? I’ve not really gone over it and I need to go over nature of God content which seems more likely to come up.

I think nature of God is definitely more likely but I wouldn't rule out religious experience altogether. The only topic I've accepted I'm not doing is ancient Greek influences cause there's not enough to write.

I feel the same way, there’s barely anything to write for ancient philosophical influences
