anyone did the falsification question? how was it? I mentioned flew, hare and mitchell and evaluated them and mentioed the verification principle as a better alternative to judge whether or not religious language has factual truth/reality

I also mentioned the verification principle as comparison but then said how they were both too extreme so brought in language games. Basically just reused my mock essay on the verification principle but made it more focused on falsification.

i focused on anselm and the criticisms he faced, what did you write about?

same i also mentioned the teleological argument as a better alternative and mentioned F.R. Tennant, Aquinas and Hume's criticisms

Overall I felt this paper was quite tough guys what did everyone else think?

Reply 84

thought the paper itself was good shame I didn't really revise the topics on it smh wasn't expecting half of them but we move. some of the wording deffo threw people of I answered the first 3 I was lucky I did the first question yesterday or well similar-categorical error question so felt most confident on that question but I guess most people are in the same boat seen some horror stories on TikTok so can't complain to much come back on paper 2 and 3

Please tell me someone else didn’t speak about Plato, Descartes, or Aristotle for materialism q!!

I found the paper itself good but obviously hard since assume like me many didn't actually focus and expect those questions to come up again. I think the wording deffo threw people off as well I was lucky since I reused my souls essay for this exam but overall yeh could've been better but at the same time greatful since it could've been way worse no one should feel discouraged seen many people worry so by the looks of it grade boundaries should hopefully be lower I answered the first 3 questions

I used Plato just as my alternative soul view, dualist perspective. You said you mentioned behaviourism too which is fine I did the same 😭 as long as you mentioned an alternative

Just curious how many pages did everyone write? I used two extra booklets, did 6 pages for materialism, 6 pages for ontological and 6-7 pages for religious experience

i adore the ontological argument, wrote 3 pages in 20 minutes but flopped the rest🤣🤣 i wrote about hare and flew for the falsification but couldn’t really remember what it was i was so stressed, and for the religious exp one i wrote about james, st paul, theresa of avila, conversion and i panicked and wrote about freud and the psychological explanations for it🥀🥀

I did something similar!

Ah I'm so glad! Just realised I forgot to mention the parable of the gardener and the weeds but oh well. Was running out of things to say for Flew as barely revised falsification/verification but my evaluation was probably strongest on this essay (I'm hoping!)

I used two booklets and they felt so short! Had to condense my conclusion for falsification as I didn't wanna ask for a third booklet in the last five minutes like I asked for a second last minute in history 😭
