What an amazing paper

it was like alright. it didn’t feel very ethicy icl. telos might have bomboclarted me

Reply 103

For the telos question I just related the concept of telos to every single thing in natural law theory. Talked about its importance with the hierarchy of law, apparent and real goods, five primary precepts and secondary precepts, doctrine of double effect, the Roman Catholic Church and synderesis, casuistry and conscientia.
For intuitionism, I talked about Moore mainly then supported him with H.A Prichard General and Moral thinking, then I talked about ethical naturalism Phillipa Foot and F.H Bradley, used Phillipa Foot’s example of writer Kropotkin’s anthropologist story and then evaluated that with Moore’s naturalistic fallacy, quickly talked about emotivism and evaluated Ayer with Alasdair McIntyre and concluded. It was a really good question ngl.
Then euthanasia I had only half an hour so I did quality of life, James Rachels, Diane Pretty talked about the slippery slope evaluated it with Helga Kuhse then talked about sanctity of life: Weak and Strong used Baby Charlotte as my example then talked about Grisez & Boyle and then had to conclude. Wish I could’ve talked about personhood but I genuinely didn’t have time but I made sure to mention it throughout.

I do think they worded the natural law question weirdly and it’s the second time they’ve done this, don’t understand what they were going for

Reply 104

well that was awful 🤩🤪🤠

Reply 105

Natural law a bit harsh as was expecting a question on situation ethics or util instead but meta ethics and euthanasia were nice. Didn't even bother with conscience because who was that question even siding with. Felt like what I wrote was solid I just didn't have much motivation to write three essays today😭

I thought that paper was amazing!! It was loads better than paper 1.
I did the question on meta-ethics, euthanasia and conscience

Me toooo

Reply 107

was anyone confused after that conscience question. i did it, but the wording felt insanely weird. it was about the religious approach, so aquinas, but then included both the conscience and the superego. the superego is a feature of freud so i was like HUH wdym religious. anyways i just like compared them both and said freud was more successful that a religious approach

Reply 108

Does not having a conclusion exclude you from top marks on that question? Technically could still get 36 surely?

Reply 109

Wait just realised 33 is an A* usually? That's made me feel so much better as my teachers use higher grade boundaires.

Same but from last year's grade boundaries 81% is an A* which translates to 33 per question.

I always forget after but this is what I remember
- Situation: Fletcher, Rachels, singer + Daniel James examples
- consequentialist slippery slope
- Biblical perspective
- following natural (Aquinas, precept, double doctrine) moor example
- Util Weak Rule resolution to slippery slope

honestly mine was super simple, i compared freud and aquinas saying freud was better as he doesnt ignore descriptive moral relativism, aligns with science, and uses a visual representation. and i basically said that aquinas' depiction of a present God is impossible, and tied in freuds secular ideas to dismiss the need for religious, stating the conscience was a result of psychological factors, psychosexual stages and childhood control and there was no present God.

Hi! It was something about if erhard made the most impact on the frg than other leaders? So sorry that might not be the exact wording but somewhere around there. Good luck
