English LIT A Level vs Politics A Level

hii! so I'm a student who is currently in year 12 and I have to choose my A levels..

so I do:
maths (m7)
English lit
English lang
Re
digital technology
history
Spanish
double award science (chem, bio, physics)

for gcse

and for a level I've picked
-bio
-chem
-history
-Spanish

but in my school, you need all As and Bs in all unit 1 & 2 sciences at GCSE to be able to study it at a level and since I'm planning to study law/law with Spanish/law with international relations or just international relations, I was thinking of changing them to:

-digital tech (instead of chem)
-either English lit or politics (instead of bio)
-history and Spanish

but because I'm considering oxbridge, should I choose either CCEA English lit or politics a level?? I need some advice please thank you!
Cambridge recommends having subjects like English, history and languages but doesn’t require or prefer any specific subjects for law.
Oxford requires an a level in the language you’d be doing and says an essay subject can be helpful but is not preferred or required.
Note that some Cambridge colleges do require some written work to be submitted as evidence of ability. Youll also need strong essay skills for the LNAT which is required for both courses.
I wouldn’t recommend doing digital tech because it’s not a respected subjects by top unis. I think you should stick to 3 subjects, including one essay or language subject because this can be preferred by other top unis and will build the skills you need for law and the lnat. Other than that, pick subjects which you think will be interesting and manageable for you!
I take biology a level btw so happy to answer questions about that 🙂 One thing i would say you should consider with sciences is that they are a big jump from gcse in terms of the volume and/or difficulty of content so keep that in mind. Also as youre doing combined youll have to catch up on triple content over the summer.

Firstly I’d look to drop one of the subjects in your final decision- there’s no merit to taking 4 for law, and strong potential for it pulling down your other subjects.

Out of these, Eng Lit is highly respected, and often a key recommended course for lots of top unis- Politics is great too, but I’d look to swap out Bio for Eng Lit ideally- worth noting you should choose what you will likely perform best in, as grades will matter more than subject for the most part( besides digital tech which I wouldn’t recommend.
