University of Strathclyde vs University of Edinburgh for Scots Law?

Hi everyone,

Currently I have two unconditionals - both for Scots law at Strath and Edi. I know Edinburgh would be the logical choice but i'm worried about the difficulty and competitive environment that Edinburgh is known for, similar to Glasgow. I've lived in Edinburgh for the past couple years and I know the Strath LLB is much more modernised which I feel I would enjoy more. It's also a new city and something to explore. I know Edinburgh is highly respected internationally but would choosing Strath limit connections that Edinburgh would give me access too? I'm completely stuck and would appreciate any kind of advice - thank youuu!

If you think you’ll enjoy the course more at Strathclyde, go for it! l think most firms are open to recruiting students from all universities and won’t put too much weight on where your degree comes from. At the end of the day you’ll end up with the same degree, you’ll be studying the same core modules, it’s going to be challenging anyways. If Strath feels like a better fit for you, and you would benefit from moving then that’s all that matters. Strathclyde is a very good uni, even if it’s not as ‘prestigious’ or a RG.

I’m not gonna lie, I don’t think difficulty is gonna change much depending on ur uni. Scots law modules r the same at their core right? I think the difficulty could change a bit but not drastically. I feel like unless you’re really concerned with going to another city due to other reasons pick edinburgh
