not sure about sfe application as a student transferring to another uni

I completed my first year at UWE last year and am currently in a gap year, transferring into a course at BCU in September as a second year.
I have applied to SFE and have changed the uni and year on my application, but there seems to be some issue, and I have to submit a PN1 form as a new student, or I can ask my uni if they have agreed to accept me as a returning student. I'm not sure whether I should do the PN1 form as I have already been a student and this is not my first time at uni.

If UWE notified sfe that you left your course then you need to use PN1 to apply as a new student to start at BCU.
List the 1 year at UWE in the previous study section.
As soon as you have a break in study then when you resume you are a “new” student for finance purposes.

Hi there,

Was your 1st year of study in the 2023/24 academic year? When you log into your online account does it say your previous course was withdrawn? Does your new course start this September?

Thanks, Drew

Hi AmeAme,

Can you confirm if the 23/24 application is showing as 'withdrawn' when you login to your account?

When I click on undergrad applications the application status for the 2023 is approved and the 2024 application says application not submitted

Hi Ame,

We don't have account access on this platform but it's likely the university had withdrawn you for that year. If you had withdrawn then the PN1 form would be required. I would then advise following the steps online and sending this via post to get the application updated. Thanks, Jason
