Hi,

I am a UK national and am applying for masters courses for 2025 entry. I was wondering: does the amount of funding SFE give you depend on the cost of the masters program? For example, if I apply to a one year MSc that costs £15,000, and another one year MSc that costs £5,000, will SFE give me more funding if I go for the expensive masters, and less funding if I go for the cheaper masters?

Thank you.

Assuming these are standard masters degrees (and not masters degrees that are classed as eligible for undergraduate funding) then the postgraduate loan amount is a flat amount for all students. You get ~£12.5k to use towards your fees and living expenses. If you choose a degree with higher fees then you will have to cover the extra costs yourself as well as all of your living costs.
