Does ucl pharmacy operate in clearing?

Whether it be the clearing on ucas or calling them directly on results day?

Whether it be the clearing on ucas or calling them directly on results day?

Whether a uni enters Clearing or not for a particular course is a function of the number of places available, the number of offer-holders who have met their offer conditions, the number of offer-holders who have just missed their offer conditions, and the university's appetite for accepting "near miss" candidates over candidates in Clearing with potentially better grades.

As almost all the above is unknowable right now, nobody can tell you whether or not UCL will place Pharmacy into Clearing or not. I can tell you, however, that they didn't do so last year.

For the courses which were in Clearing at UCL last year, students were asked to complete a "Clearing application form". You'll need to check their web site on (or just before) A level results day to establish the process this year.
UCL has only entered the main clearing process once, last year. Historically they have not participated in the main clearing process - for a few years before last year they only participated in clearing plus (a separate process where unis will be given sets of students meeting specified criteria that don't hold any offers that the uni can then choose among).

When UCL was in clearing last year, pharmacy was not one of the courses - it was predominantly humanities and language courses plus some social sciences. I don't recall any physical or life science courses being in clearing offhand.

As noted above a course being in clearing previously (or not) doesn't tell you if it will (or not) be in clearing in future. Realistically I think it's unlikely, although you can check on results day to see. Note if it is not listed in clearing there is zero point calling them up on results day which would just be a waste of your and their time.

Practically though it's irrelevant because it's likely there will at least be some other pharmacy courses in clearing around the country, and as an allied health profession course, it doesn't matter which uni you do your pharmacy degree at - all pharmacy employers care about is whether you're registered with the relevant professional body having earned the degree and complete the pre-reg year.

MPharm courses are always unlikely to enter Clearing at any Uni - its a highly competitive course, and it requires an interview, which most Unis can't organises in the middle of Results Day.

And - as noted above - no-one actually cares where you train as a Pharmacist, so park any idea of 'better course' or 'special Uni', they all teach exactly the same syllabus and all qualify you as 'a professional Pharmacist'.
