DBS Deadline?

I have applied for Early Childhood Studies at Swansea University and I’ve just received an email about getting my DBS and I’m wondering if anyone knows whether there is a deadline that I have to apply for my DBS so it comes in time? (The email doesn’t say anything)
I’m still waiting for passport to arrive to apply for student finance and I am stressed 😭

Congratulations on getting to this stage of you application!
From personal experience, I had quite a bit of time to apply for my DBS check after receiving the email from my university. Although I accepted my offer for my course in March/April, I only received the email about the DBS application around mid-July, and started the process end of August, because I was also waiting for my passport to be sent to be after renewing it.
I don't remember a deadline being given, so I suggest asking your department if they have set a deadline, but I believe that as long as you manage to get it done during the summer and have your certificate by the start of your course, you should be fine. The whole process is a rather simple and quick one, so once you are able to start it, it shouldn't be too complicated 🙂
Another little note of reassurance for you: students who go through clearing will only start that same process later in the summer, so don't worry about it too much, you've still got time!
