uni of york psychology

hello!
i've gotten an msci offer from york for psychology and i was just wondering if theres anyone whos currently on this course or have done it who could give me an idea of how its like?
i'm really perplexed because i loved the course when i visited the offer holder day but the campus didn't really stand out to me (not entirely sure if it was because of the weather as it was quite grey), unfortunately, i also didn't get to see york itself during the offer holder day which possibly could have swayed my decision
i don't want to rule york out completely as it is currently my only msci offer apart from my insurance

Hi there,

Congratulations on your offer to study at York 🥳🎉

I've tried to answer your questions, or give you some resources to help with your decision, below:

Psychology at York

We have some student vlogs about the Psychology course at York:

You could also chat to a student to ask any questions you have about living in York and the Psychology course, if a Psychology student is online. I've just looked and it looks like there are two Psychology students online at the moment, Tara and Sharanya.

Campus

I'm a York graduate, I studied biology at York between 2018 and 2022, and personally, I loved the campus - especially on sunny days - but I came to love it on grey days as well, as it was my home.

There are loads of wildlife and birds on campus, so walking between lectures felt like being in a park! I loved that everything was all in one place, and there was a sense of security from knowing that the majority of people on campus are either students or staff at the Uni, which made it feel like a community.

We have a number of college bars and cafés, which made grabbing lunch with friends between classes very convenient, as we didn't have to go into town to get some nice food.

We have a couple of campus tour videos, which might be helpful for you to watch, too:

City

If you can, I'd recommend visiting the cities of the universities you're considering, as they're a big part of your university experience - after all, it's where you'll live for 3+ years! There are loads of videos on YouTube exploring the city of York, so that could be a good place to look too for a flavour of our city.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, please drop them in this thread! Hannah 😀
