OCR GCSE Classical Civilisation Paper 1 (J199/11-12) - 20th May 2025 [Exam Chat]

Hi! Im aiming for a 9 but genuinely have done nothing until about a month ago so i guess im just hoping delusion will carry me through
Does anyone have any predictions or top tips?

hi jst wanted to know what grade you got using these flashcards, and if i use them could i get a 9 -I've not done any revision

My daughter got a grade 9 (she used my initial card versions before I converted them to Cram). She entirely self studied and didn't have any sort of tutor or attend any classes.
My son, however, got a grade 2, but he suffers from short term memory loss and acquired aphantasia since he nearly died from pneumococcal meningoencephalitis when he was 9. He only passed two IGCSEs in total.
He even did attend online weekly live classes for Class Civ but it didn't help.
So he's not at all indicative of a typical student.
(However he's a truly lovely lad, and after all exams aren't for everyone.)
In theory yes you could use the flashcards alone and comfortably get a grade 9 as they are extremely thorough.
However there are hundreds of cards and you have very little time left, so if you have done no revision whatsoever I don't think you will have enough time to learn all the material at this point.

Your first exam is in 3 days. At this point it all boils down to how good your memory is, as to how much you can cram into your head because we're only talking a few hours left for revision if you factor in rests, eating, sleeping, using the bathroom etc.
The material is all there, but presumably you don't have a photographic memory so...
