Hi, I was wondering if anyone who applied for a degree apprenticeship in year 12 (ahead early) got a conditional offer on their A-Levels, after which they joined the apprenticeship scheme? How did that work out, and have you got any advice? Thanks

To my knowledge, most, if not all, degree apprenticeship applications are only open to Year 13 students and above, due to the contracts tending to commence in the upcoming September. If made an offer, many companies will have A level requirements that are used as a condition for becoming an apprentice, which can broadly range depending on the company, apprenticeship level and type of apprenticeship itself (i.e. a level 6 marketing degree apprenticeship at a mid-tier company will likely have lower grade conditions than a level 7 solicitor apprenticeship at a Magic Circle law firm).

Thanks, yes normally apprenticeships are only open for year 13 applicants. That's why my situation will be unusual if I get an offer
I'm wondering if anybody else has gone through the process having applied in year 12 and gotten in, and how it looked compared to applying in year 13.

There's a guy on TikTok who did it, however, he got an unconditional, since yours is conditional you won't be able to do it without your A-levels, but at least you got the application experience which would be good for next year. You could also message the recruiter explaining your situation maybe that might help

I'm hoping I can get a conditional on my A-Levels, and then secure my place on results day 2026, but seeing the application process has been great.

If you are willing to move to Scotland for a role there as an excellent website that will just list apprenticeships in Scotland and you can filter for graduate apprenticeships there is a couple on at the moment.

Thank you to everyone who replied. I tried to delete this post since I am now in year 13 and this is no longer my situation, but couldn't figure out how!

I'm reapplying this year (now that I'm actually able to secure an offer).

To anyone reading this in year 12 wondering the same thing I did- I would say that if a company doesn't explicitly say that you must be over a certain age to apply, go for it, or check with recruitment if they would support you applying to see the process. The experience I gained seeing the application process right through to interview was so insightful and gives me lots of confidence for this year's application, having experienced my first serious recruitment process. The worst that happens is that you don't get the place (a year ahead of when you would do anyway!!), you gain experience and network a little, demonstrating your enthusiasm. Truly recommend.
