Congratulations to your offers.

Both are accredited by the British Psychological Society, as some form of "quality assurance"

Maybe you could choose the uni based on your own personal preference, course modules, city life, living costs etc.

I’m actually extremely unsure because I’m a city person and always have been but both seem very quiet cities.

So you need to take into other factors.

Which uni would make it easier for you meeting your friends or nearer to your home? Where you friends would go?

At a last resort rankings, though not to be relied on blindly, may help a bit. Look into the rankings, the sub-sector scorings and criteria in partivular, in detail may give you insights on the relative strengths and weaknesses of the unis.

I’m an international student, so kind of nowhere but I do know that Nottingham Trent university is quite well known for pyschology.

Hi @Siddyyyyy!🌟

Congratulations on your offer! As a psychology student myself, I can assure you the University of Essex is an amazing place not just academically but it also has to offer so much more. Studying here is a bit challenging but without a doubt rewarding. You get lots of support from your lecturers and the University itself. When it comes to the assignments and/or exams, you are never left in the dark, everything is explained to you from day 1.

The main campus is located in Colchester which I think has so many benefits. For instance, a train to London takes less than an hour. There are plenty of societies to join and many events taking place throughout the year.

If you have any specific questions about the course or the university life, do not hesitate to get in touch!

Best,

Hi @Siddyyyyy,

It's great to hear you're thinking about studying Psychology (Cognition and Neuroscience) with us at NTU!

There's a lot to look forward to should you opt to study with us, including the opportunity to work with 150 expert psychologists in one of the largest Psychology departments in the UK.

We're especially proud of our focus on employability. All of our courses feature at least 8 weeks of hands-on, employer-facing experience and the option to undertake year-long work placements. Some of our previous graduates have undertaken work in prisons to provide support for families, roles within the police and NHS, as well as mental health charities.

If you get the chance, one of the best ways to help you decide to visit the universities you're considering so you can get a feel for the campus and speak directly with current students and staff. We have a number of campus tours taking place throughout May and June, and we'd love to show you around!

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions.
