As someone currently in year 13 studying maths a level only chose it if your getting 7s and above and be willing to start revising and practicing for the very beginning it’s a good subject but requires a lot of practice more than your other subjects so the earlier the better.

I do a level maths and would be happy to answer questions 🙂
I would say that the first half term is pretty easy if youve gotten an 8 or above at gcse and manageable if you get a 7. Once you move onto actual a level content it gets a bit harder but is still very manageable if you do lots of practice questions. Be prepared to spend hours on questions that really shouldn’t take that long if you want to fully understand a concept lol. That being said, for my school at least, the homework is very manageable and tests are pretty easy to get a high mark on. This varies a lot though based on your ability and past studies, im lucky cos i did FSMQ in year 11 and got an A along with my 9 at GCSE for maths.
To prepare, id suggest doing some bridging work focusing a lot of algebra and the harder gcse content. Cgp has a headstart book that you could check out, or you could use DrFrost which has resources on bridging the gap between gcse and a level.
The resources ive bought are the CGP book (used a lot) and a CGP question book which I haven’t used yet but plan to. I mostly use drforst and YouTube.
