Boots interview

Hii, I just wanted some information. If anyone works for boots could you pls help me a bit. So I did my customer advisor interview with Boots last week. Unfortunately got rejected even though I nailed all of the competency questions she asked perfectly, I don't think I could have said or done anything better. She took me to aisles to ask if there are anything that could be done better and things I like. I mentioned how everything on sale & popular is above the eyeline, labels and price tags are all correct, and things that can be improved are facing i.e moving everything forward and narrow gaps among products which can be better. However I got my rejection email pretty much an hour later. Can I reapply again if the customer advisor position comes up or I can't since I've been unsuccessful? I've felt pretty sad since and missed my other interview with M&S thinking maybe I'm just not worthy of hiring anymore.

Hiya

Sorry to hear that you didn't get the boots job due to the interviewer not thinking you were suitable okay.

I would definitely advise you to apply for other jobs with boots ( try different local boots stores within your local area for better chances)....

You can't reapply for the same job reference number again for a minimum of a year..... If you do that then when you try to apply for it on your online profile account with boots then the computer system will automatically tell you that you can't.

Always try and apply for different jobs reference numbers with boots - don't apply for too many jobs at once, spread out your application ( say do one every three days) so that hopefully you will be given a interview, just remember that some jobs you apply for will probably ask you to do another online assessment.

I am glad that when I started with boots it was the old fashioned way of paper form application and then hand it in and you got a day and time for a interview with sometime getting offered the job there and then after the interview unlike the process of today's application as you have to do a online profile account and then apply for Jobs and await to see if you are successful with that part before you get asked to do a online assessment and if successful with that you get a invitation to do a interview.

Heyyy thanks for giving a reply this was definitely helpful, so for example a customer advisor role in a different store with a different job reference can I apply there. I really like boots even though they've rejected me hahah, so if there is a chance I might land an interview again I'll grab it 😅

Hiya
You are most welcome 🤗 🤗 🤗
Glad it definitely helps you.

So basically if you see a customer advisor role in a different store then you can apply for it as well if you see one in any of the other local boots stores in your area - here is a example of two different stores in my own city both same job role but in with different job reference numbers ( Job Reference: 252392BR. Job Reference: 252236BR ) as you can see this is two different numbers so you can apply for them both because it is in different stores and also if they were both in the same store you could actually apply for both together but if you did apply for the same reference numbers again you'll be unable to. You can apply for any job reference number in any store as long as you don't apply for the same reference number in the future for a year but hopefully you'll have a job before then.

You'll actually love working in boots as they are fabulous too work for.

Yeah keep a open eye out for other jobs in boots and apply again and see what happens 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hey @Zainiii99 🙂 I don't have specific experience with Boots but wanted to drop in as I remembered this feeling from previous job hunts! Getting rejections is rubbish but when I look back there was always something I could learn from it.

Given you got past the initial interview stages and were in store for the next part - could you maybe ask for feedback? Maybe the manager would be able to give some extra input in to things you can focus on for next time. The feedback might be super positive too which can give your confidence a boost for your next application - they might say they thought you did great but you were pipped to the post by someone with a bit more experience for example. Even if they can't provide more detailed feedback - asking for it shows that you're pro actively still interested in learning more which might be good in helping them remember you if you go back for another one 🤗

I'd echo the other advice in the thread here too - don't let it put you off working there! You're definitely worthy of hiring and this experience will help you with future interviews 🙏

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!!

Hiya
You are welcome 🤗 🤗

Wow big congratulations to you 🥳 🥳 on recieving a phone call from Primark the other day to offer you the job, oh I bet you are very happy about it as thoroughly deserving after all the other interviews you have been through.

Definitely keep your looking at boots website for Jobs within your local area as you never know you might just get offered it if you apply but make sure you put availability down for majority of data as that might help 😔 😔....

Definitely practice makes perfection as you actually gain more experience with every interview you have as it's part of learning and yes it finally paid off for you getting a offer 🫴 🫴

Hope you will enjoy it in Primark and you'll learn skills.....
