Hi @careeny weeny,

A 5 or more is very achievable and you still have time to get to that grade so do not worry! Have you tried different revision techniques? When I was revising for GCSEs and A-Levels I repeatedly used the same revision technique and was quick to realise that nothing was going in. I decided to search around and trial out various other revision techniques until eventually I found a couple that really suited me and work very efficiently!

A personal tutor or student tutor could be good help as-well, sometimes hearing things from another perspective can really change the way you absorb the information!

Finally, does your school offer any revision sessions? Whether they are during lunch breaks or after school. They might be worth attending just for the last few weeks before your exam.

Don't give up and keep trying your absolute best and I am sure you will achieve a grade 5 or higher! If you have anymore questions about revision tips then let me know and I will be more than happy to help. Good luck!

Thanks, Matt 🙂

Hey! I take the same units, the difference between a 4 and 5 is easily achievable. I consistently get 9s in my mocks so I think the best tip is practice question and always try to include specific info(stats, places, events, names, dates,) if you can

Hi,

That's a shame that your school doesn't offer much support with regards to GCSEs. In terms of revision techniques that I found beneficial I would say flashcards and past papers especially.

Flashcards - If you try and keep the information that you write on them to a minimal and include the main key points then they are so good for revising and getting the information to stick in your head! I find that if you can remember the main points then it is easier to remember all the other information that comes with it!

Past Papers - These are very helpful. They allow you to work on the techniques used to answer the different questions and by reading the mark scheme you get the hang of what the examiners are looking for and it can really improve the way you answer questions.

I hope these two methods work for you! Do not worry if they don't though as there are plenty more techniques and the same thing doesn't work for everyone!

Thanks, Matt 🙂
