Returning Mature Student - Wales - Finance Issue

Hey Folks.

I'll try and keep this brief!
About 15 years ago I took a bunch of part-time courses with the OU, for which I recieved various grants but no student loan. For various reasons I never completed my degree and the whole idea was abandoned. However I did use up several years of funding.

I'm now in the position where I'd like to attend Uni full time but I don't know where I stand. Can I still get student loans for a new 4 year degree course or have I used up my only chance?

I'm struggling to get a definite answer from Student Finance Wales and I don't want to make any applications if I can't get finance. Any advice would be great.

Thanks very much

The general rule is that you get funding for the length of your course plues one year, minus previous study. So, for example, if you have two years of previous study the calculation would be: 4 + 1 - 2 = 3 years would be funded. In this example, you would need to pay the tuition fee for the first year of the course. If you have evidence of compelling personal reasons for why you didn't complete your previous degree, you can submit this for consideration.

What course are you going to be studying? There are some exceptions to the above.
