Which drama school ? RBC, DSL, Oxford

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a BA acting/professional acting from the RBC (royal Birmingham conservatoire) and DSL ( drama studio London), as well as a foundation offer from Oxford. I’m just wondering on peoples opinions, and what everyone thinks is best.

I personally had a great time at the RBC, and not such a great time at DSL and one of the panel members was honestly just quite mean and rude but the lady was lovely and I’ve heard everyone else enjoyed it. So wondering if it was a one off. I also feel like DSL is the more well known school and there seems to be some negativity about it on the student forum, but I can’t find anything on the RBC.

So just wondering everyone’s opinions, showcases, agents, graduates, time there, the teaching, careers after etc.

I’m also happy to take another year out and reapply but obviously with drama school being so hard to get into feel I should just take the incredible offers I have

If you want to message me - I can comment on Oxford.

Congrats on the offers - you may get more responses on the 2025 drama school auditions thread.
My daughter knows friends who did Oxford foundation that didn’t then get a BA offer the following year.
If you loved RBC - maybe go where you got the “vibe” My daughter has friends on the BA course who are really enjoying it and feel that it is really strong training. DSL similarly heard some not so great things.

Yeah I’m currently at the foundation course, on the actors workshop, which is not only cheaper but I think the training is the too you can get, as it’s also charity run so it’s not limited by a curriculum. And the teachers are incredible. So if anyone else is reading this I highly recommend it and I strongly believe it’s the best foundation out there. They’ve offered me a scholarship for next year if u want it so honestly I’d think I’d choose it over Oxford any days for the foundationz

It is mainly choosing between dsl and RBC, or whether I jsut try again for another year and see where I end up. But if as you’ve said you know people on the RBC that really love it I feel like that’s a good sign.

And will do thank you so much:

She could probably put you directly in touch with those she knows there (guessing you’re in the other group to her)
