Lets say I hypothetically get a pass on a unit on my access course but I achieve more distinctions than I needed for my offer would I still be accepted into the Uni? I've heard some unis give people entrance anyways even if they miss their offer grade significantly

If you "achieve more distinctions than I needed" presumably there's some other element to the offer which you haven't mentioned? Are you required to get all merits and distinctions?

No-one can predict what a Uni may accept on Results Day in terms of a higher-grade=there vs a-lower-grade there. This is the same for those taking A levels. Try not to worry and just do the best that you can.

Yes essentially 15 merits and 30 distinctions but I feel like getting more distinctions than needed would balance out the pass but who knows

Well, as @McGinger says, it might - but it might not. All you can do is work hard to get the best grades you can and then hope for the best.
