Hey @username7047603

I'm a final year biochemistry student so hopefully I can help you with your worries. There are so many things you can do with a biochemistry degree.

You can obviously go into further bioscience research - either in academia (MSc/MRes, PhD, Postdoctoral Researcher etc.) or in industry/healthcare (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, manufacturing, clinical trials). You could use your scientific knowledge to work in patent law, science communications/writing, or teaching. You can also use a biochemistry degree to go into so many career areas that don't require a specific undergraduate degree e.g. law, finance, management.

Until you get to university, figure out what you like, and start hearing about different careers, you really cant even comprehend how many different areas you could go into. However, to make sure you're a competitive applicant for any of these jobs it's really important that you gain work experience during your studies outside of your degree and learn how to talk about the skills you've gained. Placement years. internships, and part-time work can make you much more appealing to future employers. Please reach out and talk to the careers services at your university and sign up to their drop-in sessions and events! They're there to help you and can give some amazing advice and point you towards opportunities you might otherwise miss!

I hope I could help a little, let me know if you have any other questions that I might be able to answer!
