Here's what I wrote about in my Medicine Paper
Section 1- Western Front
One feature of fighting - shells cause shrapnel
one feature of blood transfusions- new tech - blood banks first used in battle of Cambrai
source a - '1000s of soldiers a day' I know this as there were 448000 casualties in the 3rd battle of Ypres, good provenance and no censorship form DORA
source b- 'kettles, hot water bottles and sponges frozen solid' i know this as it was very cold in december 1917 and many soldiers caught frostbite, good provenance but might be censored as it's a letter
inquiry- 'morning tasks', what tasks did you do for the rest of the day?, diary of a nurse on the western front, not censored and will entail daily routine
Section 2- Medicine through Time
comparison - both plague and cholera caused by poor sanitary conditions which were fixed by government (sweeping streets/ john snow and second public health act)
12 marker - germ theory important because 1) koch categorizing germs, 2) new technologies like microscope and petri-dish (advancements continued into 20th century), 3) antiseptic in surgeries
20 marker- (chose Q5) 4 humors important due to church supporting galen's ideas and controlling books but in renaissance due to printing press it improved / black death and plague both had supernatural causes which shows how important supernaturality is even though events are300 years apart / renaisance had many breakthroughs eg william harvey and the four humours was discarded other than in diagnosis as the uneducated could understand it!

It was amazing in my opinion!
One misconception for medicine is that you probably couldn't have trench foot as an injury caused by fighting

Medicine:
Trenches:
Describe feature Q's were about what??
Sources - diary from a chaplain and a letter
What was the enquiry about?
I heard someone mention blood transfusions
12 marker on Germ Theory - got to be happy with that
16 marker on Galen
16 marker on government role in hospitals 1800-present - excellent

Describe feature Q's were about 1) one feautre of how fighting caused high numbers of injuries (along those lines) and the 2) a feature about blood transfusions use on the western front

i think it was asking for details on how different injuries occurred from fighting. so you could reference gunshot, shells, gas etc. (i might be wrong tho!!!!)

i talked about how both treated through cleanliness like how broad street pump for cholera was connected to a cesspit and had to change the pump so clean water would flow and for great plague i talked about cleaning the streets adn other cleaning methods
