REAL what’s your optional?

Brain and behaviour, I absolutely loved learning it super interesting (same with most of unit 4 I found it super interesting) so I think the main issue is the timing in my opinion we only finished unit 4 the last lesson before study leave so its a lot to try and learn in a short period and its meant I haven't been able to complete a full past paper until recently then obvs have had to leave the rest of them until before the exam. I think WJEC really needs to think about the amount of biology content when they change the spec again, its far too much the teachers couldn't find the time to properly teach everything so it made lessons very fast paced and formulaic so we couldn't enjoy the content.

that’s sounds more interesting than the musculoskeletal anatomy😭😭it’s so boring but a bit more easier than some of the topics🙏and yea the content is a bit too much which i do agree with lol

I mean grade boundaries are a lot lower for unit 4 too my friend skipped all the lessons for the optional unit, my teachers kicked off then we realised you could do the paper not answer the optional unit and still come out with an A lol (not recommending this just found it funny)😭

I agree. I was talking to my friends in England and they don’t have any human reproduction content, not much on plant reproduction (I think maybe fertilisation comes up) and like those are pretty integral to unit 4 😭

From looking at past papers it seems to be a common theme that 4.1 and 4.2 have relatively simple questions and the rest of the paper maintains a more formulaic and predictable structure in comparison to unit 3 e.g u know all probably have to do a genetic cross of sorts which would be followed by a chi squared. Ive found unit 4 a bit easier its just a lot to do when most people only finished it in may

True. I hope so at least, they better not flip it around this year 😭 And yeah I finished my optional unit the week before half term so safe to say I haven’t had lots of time to revise with every other exam to prepare for. But we’ve got a week so we should be fine

yeah I got 2 days between my next exam and that one I think unit 4 content is a lot more crammable anyway, wouldn't be out of wjecs character to switch up on us but hope not lol
