idk but miss estruch made videos for all 3 papers

the predictions on pmt predicated paper says: dihybrid cross, adaptations (behavioural, physiological, anatomical) and simpsons index of biodiversity in a table, nitrogen cycle too, be sure to cover natural selection as theres always 4-6 markers on it (random mutation, selection pressure, advantageous alleles) GOODLUCK

what detail are we meant to know the different pathogens and examples in, is to just each pathogen with examples ?

i think also how they attack the host e.g. releasing toxins for bacteria, replication inside host causing the host to burst for viruses

does anyone have last years papers/know what topics came up?

I did it for my mock from what I remember there was quite a bit on phatogens ,t killer cells evolution the phylogeny tree that’s all I remember hope it helps x

what detail do you need the pathogen examples in e.g. HIV and tobacco mosaic for virus, is it just a name drop or do we need detail on the examples, spec is unclear

Reply 9

I believe it depends on the questions and the marks if it’s like name a virus’s in humans you would say like HIV
Or it could ask like explain how HIV acts as a virus’s or smth
Again the specification is unclear you just need to know the content and how to apply it

Reply 10

just done the PMT predicted and there is loads of stuff not in the spec, please tell me if im wrong but we don't need to know about reverse transcriptase

Reply 11

Reverse transcription is in the genetic engineering topic it is in the ocr book so probably is in the spec
But it’s not that difficult just a lot of people overcomplicate it I’d recommend watching free science lessons he’s really helped

Reply 12

right, we do not need to know about reverse transcriptase, its an alternate method not included in the spec, the method we need to know is using restriction enzymes

Yes you use reverse transcriptase to genetically modify insulin with bacteria you do need to know that for OCR not sure about others

It’s used for gm of insulin using bacterial plasmid yes you need to know it

guys for species richness dont we use quantitiave study cus we need to measure number of species in habitat so why does the ocr oxford revise boook say qualitative
