i was in College Wynd in my first year - pretty good accom but it has a major mould problem (no silverfish or mice like other accommodations tho and pretty small flats which is nice). honest advice is to make friends outside ur flat during freshers as there's no common room (its in Kincaids). also, flat 3-1 will be the best for parties (it's across 2 floors!)

unfortunately I think many of the old buildings are like that. Was the location good?

Location is great, not even 10 minutes walk from central campus and you're very close to all the bus links at South Bridge. Can be a bit noisy, particularly if you're on one of the rooms facing the street as it is right on Cowgate near all the nightclubs, if you're a light sleeper it can be a bit difficult for the first wee while but you get used to it

Any idea of flat 5 would be facing the street and what floor it would be on?

would you say it's as much of a sesh den as kincaid's or just a small measly mouldy satellite with not much going on? also would you say there was much movement between the college wynd flats? especially as they're only four person and that seems a little dinky (but cosy)

if you guys find your way onto the big freshers community chat, then ill be in the college wynd section so that might be a good way to organise stuff in the coming months. there's also a facebook group combining kincaid's and college wynd run by RAs

My daughters been allocated flat 5 which is 5 person so there are 5 & 6 beds at college Wynd but most 4. Have you accepted your offer of accommodation?

that fb chat is the one of the two I'm talking about yes. the other 'big chat' that i mention is on a different app - I can't mention any more information about it because student room moderators will just remove or edit anything I say since it goes against their rules. i assume I'll be banned if i keep trying to tell you, so sorry for the indirectness

I was in a 6-bed but I found that there was lots of chat between flats and also between us and kincaid's

also, was certainly a little bit of a sesh den but I also started uni in 2021 when a lot of nightclubs were still funny on covid rules so I'm not sure how that's changed
