use the like as a dislike button for topic 8 (gene technology)

I don't mind Topic 8, I think its quite interesting and fairly understandable, I'd say I don't like ecosystems and populations more.

both are explicitly part of the spec under:
“The roles of transcription and translation in the control of gene expression, including the roles of miRNA and siRNA in RNA interference (RNAi).” this is what chat gpt said so i assume so

oh can't trust chatgpt icl cause in the spec it actually says "In eukaryotes and some prokaryotes, translation of the mRNA produced from target genes can be inhibited by RNA interference (RNAi)" thats why im wondering cause the aqa approved textbook talks about siRNA only but other sources also mention miRNA and I don't wanna learn useless info that's not gonna be assessed ygm

You don't need to know the difference between them, just that they both must become single stranded, they bind to the comp base seq on the target mRNA , then either inhibit translation or hydrolyse the mRNA (this requires the use of an enzyme known as RISC)

honestly scared after paper 1, hopefully it’s less application

on the spec it says for paper 2 application (AO2) is weighted between 52 - 56% of the entire paper

Reply 17

Predictions for grade boundaries? I think its gonna be in between 23 and 24.it's most likely going down by a few % at least thou.
