Can I accept my offer for uni in 2026 some point into next year?

Hello,

I applied and auditioned for uni to start in the year 2026. I have received my offers and one of which is unconditional. I have realised UCAS say that you have to accept or decline your offer by June 5th but does this still apply if I am starting in 2026? Can I not accept or decline these some point into next year?

I have been applying for dance courses so to decline offers that are unconditional and also ones that you have to audition for and then re audition next year would be slightly annoying. I know I have probably made a mistake here and that is the case but can’t find anything about this on the UCAS website  Thanks

You have to make your Firm and Insurance choices by 5th June because you applied this year - you would then have a definite place for 2026. You cannot 'carry over' offers to next year and make up your mind then, nor can you hold an Unconditional place for 2026 and also apply again through UCAS.

Thank you for clearing that up for me! That makes much more sense 🙂

Hey!
If you applied for 2025 entry even if you plan to start in 2026 you’ll still need to accept or decline offers by the June 5th UCAS deadline. Unfortunately, most dance courses won’t carry offers over, so you’d likely need to reapply and audition again next year.

It’s best to contact the unis directly and ask about deferral options. Don’t worry it’s a common mix-up, and they’re usually helpful if you explain your situation. Good luck!
