Exeter Penryn - Sidings or Glasney 2025

Hi
Interested to know what people's views are on the different accommodation options at the Exeter Penryn campus. For example, which one is noisier or more party orientated? I am looking for a quieter experience and am unsure which one to go for.

Hi Zootropolis72,

I'm a current PhD student in Evolutionary Biology at the Penryn Campus, but also studied here for my undegrad too (staying in Glasney Student Village). I'd say that my general recommendation is probably to live in Glasney, as it's closer to campus, more convenient, and larger so you'll meet the widest range of people here, and more people from your course are likely to be staying there too, so it's easier to meet up before going out or to societies or anything else. Glasney is really nice too, but the main advantage is that it's right next to the train station, so perhaps good for convenience if you have a reason to travel back and forth more regularly. At least when I had applied for accommodation a few years ago, there was an option for quieter flats when ranking your preference, so you should look into this as an option too.

I hope that's helpful, but please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any more questions about the Penryn Campus.
